No, I’m not dead, the boys are on March Break from school and I am on a mission to organize the many areas of this house that just pick on my brain every time I walk into a specific room. I have completely abused the Grandmas to help care for the boys during the day while I unpack and pack cupboards, purge expired, old, unused, unloved items, create some sort of system to organize this, put some order on that… just to be all in the toilet a week from now I am sure. As I slowly tackle my list I realize that our house can never be as organized as I would like it to be because we just don’t use this house the way it was meant to be used.
The Master Bedroom: at your house a private place for mommy and daddy to relax and escape, but at our house it’s used to sleep, also the Boss Man’s room, my mini “office” area, and a play room with toys for the boys
The Living Room: at your house a place to host guests, maybe have a drink and is always clean; over here it’s the children’s “official” play room (as if keeping toys in one room was a reality) and the workout room since we just added an elliptical machine in there
The TV Room: at your place an area to relax and enjoy time together or a movie as a family, but here it’s not only a place we host guests (since the living room is our in home toy store), but a diaper/clothes changing area and another play zone with toys
The Kitchen: a place to prepare and share a family meal, but at our house it works as a 24 hour soup kitchen and the children’s art work, coloring, cutting station, with an added play area for you guessed it… more toys of course.
The Office: obviously a place where work gets done at your house, however here it is the storage room, an unfinished projects room, and a place to house toys that have been taken away for poor behaviour
The Dining Room: at your house to host guests, or have a large special dinner; over here it is what the kids call the “Dancing Room” since it’s empty we use it for our after dinner dance parties, and play “Duck Duck Moose” as Lil’J would say
The Laundry Room: at your place quite simply a place where laundry is done right? Here we use for storage, timeouts, and laundry… surprisingly no toys there
Therefore, my March Break Mission is simply a mission impossible. I might as well get back to enjoying the unorganized life we were living all along. Any multi-use rooms in your house?

Sometimes I look around my house and just cry. Where there used to be neat, organized stuff, there is now bins of toys and legos all over the place. It’s crazy how much crap accumulates when you have kids and it’s even crazier how small your house seems to get, too.

I know it’s like one big storage room. Before kids I had a place for everything, neat, tidy, easy to find…clean. I miss clean, oh how I miss clean:(
The toys drive me insane I have told my friends and family no more toys. I cannot look at another Barbie without wanting to vomit. I have an extra room downstairs and just chuck all the crap down there and shut the door so I don’t have to look. I started having the little one do the cleaning of her play room if it does not get down I start taking toys as ransom until it is done…Cruel yes but you know what it has worked. Cheers

Quick, come over and teach these monsters how to cleanup after themselves. I would looooove that.
Do I have a multi use room? Yes. My house! lol I felt a kinship while reading this and probably would have laughed at the your house/my house but it was all too familiar! lol
Glad to know you’re doing well!
